TRAVEL KNOWLEDGE TO INFORM AND EMPOWER

I grew up in a city rich with museums of all types, many world renown. I at numerous points in my growing took advantage of these facilities of learning. There are still many newer ones I have not visited; there are still countless more around the nation that I have not visited. My quest is to as I go along to visit more. Some people don't see the value in the wealth of knowledge of the vast numbers of museums at our access. These buildings are filled with artifacts that inform and empower us to know more and understand our past better to avoid mistakes.

With an eye on the education of its public, the modern museum has taken the mantle of preserving and displaying objects of artistic and cultural value while also interpreting those collections of scientific significance.

From a visitor or community perspective, the purpose can also depend on one's point of view. A trip to a local history museum or large city art museum can be an entertaining and enlightening way to spend the day.

To city leaders, a healthy museum community may be seen as a way to measure the economic vitality of a city and a way to increase the sophistication of its inhabitants. A museum professional may see a museum as a way to educate the public about specific issues or fields of study, such as civil rights or medicine. Museums are, above all, storehouses of knowledge.
